Marketing strategies, why am I doing a post on this you should ask? Well when any of my clients initially come to me about their business, I ask them first, what marketing strategies have they implemented, what is and isn’t working.

Marketing & promotional strategies can consist of so many things for example:

  • website
  • social media
  • blogging
  • e-newsletters
  • networking
  • brochures and flyers
  • TV, radio or print advertising
  • word of mouth
  • loyalty and reward programs
  • cold calling
  • mail-outs and letter drops
  • sponsorship
  • PR activities such as media releases and events

But are you being consistent doing these activities. If you think you can for example do cold calling one week, or write 2 blogs for the month and that will be enough or manage a Facebook Group once a week, it won’t cut it.

You need to be consistent and keep going with it. I always say to clients at least give it 6 months, if by then you are not achieving any results, then we need to see firstly why your not, but you have to remain consistent. Just trying things and then walking away is not the way business owners should market their product or service.

The old saying ‘if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work, cut your losses’ but ultimately you need to give the marketing strategy or whatever you have decided to do some time, develop and nurture and do it on a daily basis.

Remember ‘consistency is the key’. A customer will remember you for your consistency, your determination, not someone that gives something a go for a few weeks and walks away.

Like the good old Pantene advertisement “It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen”, remain consistent and believe me it will pay off in the long run and you will never look back.
