At this time of the year, most businesses are now focusing their energies on setting some goals for 2019. What they want to achieve, outsource, complete and obtain in the coming year.
But for any business to succeed you should have a 2-3 year plan, not just a 12 month plan, at least review your business strategy and focus for 2020 and beyond. No great entrepreneur or successful large business has a 1 year forecast only. Most successful businesses have a 3-5 year forecast in place.
Firstly you may already have a Virtual Assistant or looking to obtain one in the future. If you do, congratulations, it is great to be able to outsource work, but maybe look at utilising your Virtual Assistant beyond just a few jobs in 2020. He/she may be able to implement some other strategies for your business well into the future.
Personally for my own VA business I have been working for a few clients now for 3-4 years. At the beginning they said, it will only be for a few short weeks, cough, cough…well those few short weeks have now extended to 3-4 years down the track and I have enjoyed watching the progression and growth, that’s the biggest kick I get when I work for different businesses.
How have I achieved working for some clients’ for many years? I would think it comes down to building a great rapport over this time with different clients. Being available when they needed me and I think the biggest thing my clients ‘love’ about me, is I am adaptable and have moved with the technology and have also brought them fantastic ideas and concepts and strategies to their businesses.
It’s not all about being able to do set tasks as a Virtual Assistant, of course I can do this, no problem, but actually looking at their business from a strategic viewpoint. Bringing different concepts and helping them build their brand, build their database, bring in new leads, bring new clients, this has been my biggest achievement over the last few years, hence why I am still working for these same clients years down the track.
So if you are now just reviewing your goals and you do outsource to a Virtual Assistant, maybe consider this within your 3-5 year plan.
